Agreement
By downloading or using the UpdateContacts app, or by using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
What UpdateContacts does
UpdateContacts helps you update the phone numbers stored in your device's contacts from the old 7-digit Gambian format to the new 9-digit format. It reads your contacts, shows you proposed changes, and applies the changes you confirm.
Your responsibility
- Review the preview screen before confirming. UpdateContacts shows every change it will make; applying them is your decision.
- Keep your own backup if your contacts are critical to you. UpdateContacts creates an encrypted backup on your device before each update, but it is not a substitute for your own cloud or account backup.
- You are responsible for having the right to modify the contacts on the device you are using.
Accuracy of the numbering data
UpdateContacts applies the operator prefix mapping published for the migration. Because numbers can be ported between networks, the mapping is a strong indication rather than a guarantee for any individual number. UpdateContacts flags numbers it cannot place rather than guessing, and lets you set the operator yourself. You should verify important numbers.
UpdateContacts is not affiliated with PURA, Africell, QCell, Comium, Gamcel or Gamtel, and does not speak for them.
Purchases
The app is free to download. Scanning, previewing, the number converter, the QR share card and migration information are free. A single one-time payment unlocks bulk updating, encrypted backups, restore and undo. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
Payments are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled under their policies, not ours. The unlock is tied to your store account and can be restored on a new device using the Restore Purchase option.
Availability
UpdateContacts is provided as is. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will be compatible with every device or operating system version.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, UpdateContacts is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app or website, including loss of contact data where you have declined or removed the backup the app provides. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app, or use it to modify contact data you are not authorised to modify.
Changes
These terms may be updated. Material changes will be published here with a new date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of The Republic of The Gambia.
