Common problems
- UpdateContacts cannot see my contacts
- Permission is off. Open your device Settings, find UpdateContacts, and switch Contacts on. Then reopen the app and scan again.
- Some numbers say "operator unknown"
- Their leading digits do not match any published range — often a number saved in an unusual format, or one ported between networks. Open the preview screen and choose the operator yourself. Left alone, they stay unchanged.
- I updated my contacts and want to go back
- Use Undo on the success screen, or open Backups and restore the snapshot taken before the update. Both put every number back exactly as it was.
- I paid but the app still shows locked
- Open Settings and tap Restore purchase. The unlock is tied to your Apple or Google account, so make sure you are signed in with the account you paid with.
- I changed phone
- Install UpdateContacts on the new phone, open Settings and tap Restore purchase. Backups are stored on the device and do not transfer, so run a fresh scan on the new phone.
- The update stopped part way
- Nothing is lost. Changes already made can be undone, and you can rescan and run the remaining ones. The backup taken at the start is still on your phone.
